Sat. July 24, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1083 points (-5)This is a little strange. Egg asked me to cover the weekend for her, since she's on vacation somewhere that she won't have internet. This cubby reporter is coming to you from his hot vacation spot in sunny.... Chicago! Actually, it's anything but sunny. But enough about that, on to the stocks. ~~~~~~~~~~ The buying fashion continues this morning. UNIB and TPP start our morning wearing a little number 15. Next, modeling number 16, are FAER, CYBU PDSS and FISH. Finally, our plus-size stock, DROO, is showing a smart-looking 17. Unfortunately, there's not much to get excited about in sales. E5 is muddling about in the mid 50's, but even that's getting to be old news. ~~~~~~~~~~ Java- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

 Re: ARCHIVE: Daily Stock Advice
Mon. July 26, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1059 points (+21)The Stock Benefit Guild and the Neodaq has always been about making the most of nps and making profits. Well, this is one of those times to make plans. The Chef Bonju Avatar is available in only August, and that means starting next week the avatar will be in high demand. The Chef Bonju Avatar requires three items: Blumaroo Steak, an Orange Juice, and the book Gourmet Cooking For Your Pet. Its a sure thing that these items will be inflating as players begin making these items disappear into the cooking pot to get the avatar. supply will be going down as they disappear into the cooking pot, and demand will be going up as people rush the get the avatar before the month expires. lower supply plus increased deman equals higher prices. If you plan on getting the avatar then its time to think about getting the needed items before the August rush. I'm sure others will be hoarding items to profit as the prices increase. In addition to worrying about the items for Chef Bonju Avatar make sure that you buy your daily stocks. Four stocks are at the target purchase price: CHIA(15), SKBD(15), SWNC(15) and TSRC(15). I added SKBD to my portfoio this morning. Sales have the same two stocks in the hundreds as the past few days: MYNC(163) and KSON(244). After those two your next choices are way down in the 50's, and I recommend a hold and watch for those companies. *hugs* Jill- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

 Re: ARCHIVE: Daily Stock Advice
Tue. July 27, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1014 points (-21)224,000 nps... that number doesn't have a very round sound to it, but it is significant. 224,000 nps is the daily interest that would be earned if you had 655 million nps in the bank. 655 million... doesn't have a very round sound to it, but it certainly sounds like a huge number of neopoints. 655 million nps is also the amount that a single user donated to the Save the Wheels event. I myself donated 2,000 nps to Save the Wheels, and that seemed like plenty. I can't imagine donating millions, and I can't fathom hundreds of millions. What I can imagine is taking 15,000 nps and investing it in the Neodaq market. This morning we have the choice of MPC(15) or TRSC(15) at the target price. I added MPC to my portfolio. I can't imagine gettting 224,000 nps every morning by just hitting the collect interest button, so I'm always watching for stock sales to generate nps. At the moment I'm at a wait and hold point as I watch to see if either EEEEE(50) or TNPT(54) will move higher. Have a great day! *hugs* Jill- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

 Re: ARCHIVE: Daily Stock Advice
Wed. July 28, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1039 points (+9)Vacations are a wonderful thing. It's great, even for just a little while, to escape the daily grind and do something different - try a new sport, kick back on a beach, explore a city you've never been to before. And it seems there is always something interesting that happens while you're gone that needs your attention when you get back. It just happened to me. Most of you know I was on a "mini-vacation" to the city of Chicago. My family and I had a wonderful time, watched a little bit of filming for a movie, and just explored some of the sights. As usual, when I got back, there were a handful of emails and other tasks waiting for me. The note that caught me the most off my guard was the one that told me that one of the stock writers is retiring. I won't tell which one - that will come out in a few days - but I willl tell you that this person's real life has taken a turn for the better *applause*. Sadly, the added responsibilities in real life means less time for Neo-life . And so, dear readers, we come to the point of this morning's monologue: We need a new writer. It's not hard to do, you don't have to write like Longfellow or Shakespeare, you just need to understand stocks. If you've been here for any length of time, that's easy. Interested? Just drop a mail to any of us on the writer's staff. ~~~~~~~~~~ Today's buys are mostly in the high end, but we'll start with the bargains. PDSS is the best buy, at 15, followed closely by CHIA and HELT at 16. The high end of the buy list is MPC, AAVL and SMUG. It looks like we have a new stock toying with the idea of being sellable. LDSC is up to 59 as I write this. SMUG is also worth watching for sale, it's only down two points from yesterday. ~~~~~~~~~~ Java- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

Wed. July 28, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1096 points (+1)Man Finds Elvis In Waffle, Opens Shrine
Nashville, TN (DNN) For the last three days, Buffalo Creek Road has been lined with cars. It's been so crowded that the Nashville Police department has officers directing traffic around the clock. All because of a waffle.
Brett Hernandez, 34, was making breakfast for himself and his two children last Friday. As he pulled a finished waffle out of the waffle iron, his oldest son, Jeremy, commented "Hey, dad, doesn't that look like Elvis?" Both Brett and younger brother Bobby agreed that the burn pattern on the waffle did indeed resemble the King of Rock 'n Roll. The Hernandez family, all lifelong Elvis fans, could barely contain their excitement as they set the revered waffle aside.
"We contacted Graceland that afternoon," Brett recalls, "and we even drove the waffle over there. It's only a couple of hours away. But they wouldn't even talk to us. Heck, we were gonna just give them the Elvis Waffle, if they'd display it. They were polite and all, but I think they was laughing at us when we left."
So Brett, a carpenter by trade, built a shrine for "The Elvis Waffle" and set it in his front yard. It hasn't taken long for word of this phenomenon to spread, and the Elvis faithful have been coming in droves. Nashville Police are hoping that Graceland officials change their mind about displaying "The Elvis Waffle" so that traffic can return to normal.

Thu. July 30, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1082 points (0)Anyone played the Nintendo Wii? I finally got one a month or so ago. I know it came out years ago, though I was hoping the price went down. It kind of did, but not by much. I got a used black version and two more controllers and it still cost a couple hundred from an online auction and classified ad site. The boxing game is very fun and a new workout. It's surprising that swinging your arms can make you feel so sore afterwards or does that mean I'm out of shape. Well, let's go back to business. ~~~~~~~~~~ There are a bunch of buyables again including VPTS, SFTP, HELT, MPC, AAVL and NATN. So with so many to choose from, I'll pick the one I have the least of, SFTP. TNPT and LDSC are in the 60s for an ok sale. Since I sold a portion already, I will wait to see if it get higher before parting ways with it. MYNC and KSON again dominate all stocks. I have a few of them left, so I'll wait to see if they can pop to 300. ~~~~~~~~~~ Have a great weekend! See you in August. NStarz

The Story of Virtupets (VPTS)
"This evil company is a front for Sloth and his nefarious schemes. Do not invest, we repeat do NOT invest!"
That's what the stock's description says. Don't pay any attention to these little blurbs. Dr. Sloth is semi-retired, and anyway, an evil mastermind has to eat, right?
There have been three distinct periods in VPTS's life. Beginning with the opening of the stock exchange in 2002, VPTS has always been on the lacklustre side. It spent most of 2002 through 2004 rummaging around in Nigel's unbuyable basement with a single run to the mid-sixties. 2005 brought some excitement that lasted right up to the end of 2007: five runs to 60+ and setting its own personal best of 82 in an amazing spike gaining and losing a full 76 points in four weeks. Since October of 2007, VPTS reverted to its old ways, and has spent much of its time under 20, showing faint glimmers of life in a few moments of 30-ishness.
I mention VPTS because it's been an option at 15 for a few days and its never been high on my buy-list. After all the time VPTS has sat in the buyable zone, I have accumulated only a modest heap of Sloth's finest. Yet, it has the same potential of any company to provide investors with handsome profits, and after its 3-years-up-3-years-down cycle, 2010 may be its breakout year.
Nothing else is at 15, but there are 2 choices each at 16, 17, and 18, and 2 more each at 13 and 12.
The top stocks are still KSON (206) and MYNC (159), with TNPT (66) playing in the 60s again, and LDSC (59) just below that.

Welcome to August
How did your investments pay off in July? I'll be posting my results at the Daq forum later today - stop in and post yours. While you're at it, there's a little game in the SBG-only area that's looking for a few more participants. Definitely a good place to include on your rounds through Neopia. Also, first of the month means FREEBIES!
When I woke up this morning, PDSS and NATN were at 15, but now AAVL has dropped a couple points and is the only 15 available. It's earned a good reputation from a couple of trips above 100.
The top four stocks were all above 60 (when I started typing this), but they've gotten stale. LDSC (63) reached the 70s in July but never dropped all the way back to 15 before it returned to the sell-zone, so any of us with leftovers will be watching for higher prices. TNPT (was 61, now 58) is moving downwards after its own double-bounce. Anything above 60 is a recommended sell, but you may be waiting for a higher sell point.
Before I go, one final note: be careful out there! There have been a number of players hit with cookie grabbers. There is plenty of good information on how to protect your account, and TNT is working to restore accounts if they get proper reports, so be informed and stay safe.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is I've got a great new job. The bad nws is my freetime is more precious than ever. Thus tomorrow is my final day as a frontpage stock reporter. I'll miss reviewing and writing about stocks, but I just don't have the time.
So let get to it. Three stocks starting the morning at the target price: COFL(15), STFP(15), NATN(15). I bought COFL for my portfolio.
Sales are the same as yesterday. LDSC(67) is looking nice, but I'm waiting for it to move up a few more points.
Well, tomorrow I retire from stock writing, so this desk will be looking for a new face. If you've ever thought about lending a hand with a daily report then neomail Java.
*hugs*

Happy Monday!!! Its time to start a new week. And for today I'm your Monday greeter. So I guess I start with introductions. I'm Jill.
I know its actually Tuesday... but that was my opening two years ago when I posted my first stock witers' report, so I figured I'd start at the beginning with my last stock writers' report.
It has been great at the stock writers' desk working with Java, Egg and Nstarz. I feel bad leaving them on short notice, but I am sure they will keep things going. Special hugs to Dob and NY, who were the first writers I worked with. They certainly had earned their retirements from the stock writers' desk with many more years of service than I.
I've been handed a new job, and getting to work earlier each day has become very important. But I am going to pause one last time to make sure that everyone is aware of the buys and sells for the day.
We've got three stocks at the target purchase price: SKBD(15), SSS(15), VPTS(15). As my portfolio is light in shares of super shakes I've added SSS to my portfolio.
Sales are the same as yesterday. LDSC(70) is looking nice, but I'm holding out for at least 75 nps per share.
And thus I am hitting post on my final stock report.
*hugs*
(and bye for now)

Wed. Aug. 4, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1137 points (+4)Wow, every time someone leaves Stock Central, the office feels weird for a few days. I suspect now that Jill has put down her writer's pen, the office is gonna get really quiet. And dusty. Nstarz and I aren't much for cleaning, like Jill was, and there's only so much poor Egg can do by herself. There's one thing that one of us should do, though, and that's to try to keep you good people up-to-date on Neo News. So I was reviewing the news and discovered that (supposedly) the Wheel of Monotony has returned! I have my doubts that it's any faster than before, but at least it's back. (I'll try to do this part better, but it will be a while before I can do it as well as Jill). And in stock news... Buys are plentiful today, even among the bargains! SKBD, YIPP and VPTS start off the day at 15, and I think YIPP will be my choice for the morning. CHIA, NAKR and MPC are at 16, still worth a look. At the high end of our buys is STFP. LDSC makes news again this mornign on teh sales floor. If you're holding any, 83 is a good sell point (but will it go even higher?) I'm cashing out at least some of mine. I'll also be watching TNPT to jump back up to sellable. Java- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

 Re: ARCHIVE: Daily Stock Advice
Thu. Aug. 5, 2010 Neodaq Index : 1162 points (-7)Well, this is a bit embarrassing. I had a report (OK, a story) in mind for this morning, but the weather got in my way. Certain people spouse*cough*daughter*cough* apparently didn't realize that rain was on the way through the area until the thunder started. Many things that shouldn't get a rainwater bath, like laundry, were outside. There was a mad scramble to take care of that, plus car windows, yadda, yadda. Our local power substation lost a large transformer last week. Actually, it blew up. Apparently the substation is still substandard, because the power at my house kept flickering througout the thunderstorm. I don't know how many times my home network needed to be reset, but fortumately, all the equipment survived. So, "Good Morning! But I digress..." The stock buys list is a short one this morning, and I think Nigel is sleeping in. BOTT and MPC are today's bargains at 16. NAKR at 17 is the only other recomended buy. If you're still holding LDSC, rejoice! it's at 89 right now, and I'm starting to wonder if it will reach an all-time high. See you next week! Java- Ticker High/Current/(Recommendation)

Neodaq Index : 1117 points (+25)
Plus and Minus
Your Portfolio page contains some useful data that you might not be making use of. My eye usually just scans down the % Change column looking for black numbers (means I can buy it), or large green numbers (anything over 300% catches my eye). How about the Chg column though? What's its point?
This is an interesting morning for Chg (change) actually. There are two stocks LDSC +12 and MYNC +19 with large changes. The rest of the board is +/- 1 to 4. This explains the large change on the Index (+27). More importantly, these plusses and minuses tell us something about trends and give us an idea of expectations. If LDSC is up 12 it won't likely have room to grow much further today, but could move up maybe by another 3 or 4 before the end of the day. The swings are magnified at higher price levels, so you might see a change in the 20s up or down for MYNC (210), but 30 point changes are very rare. Stocks with prices in the 30s might pull 6 to 12 point swings. If you see that happening, like SMUG (36) +6, get interested - it may be preparing for a surge over the next several days.
You're not going to find a crystal ball however hard you squint it any numbers, but you can use what is there to inform your hunches. Personally, I like well-informed hunches.
YIPP was the lone 15 in the early hours of the day, and SSS is sitting all by itself at 15 right now. There are a couple 17s moving down (Chg -2) and a 14 moving up (Chg +2) so I'm sure you'll find something to buy today.
LDSC caught my attention this morning when it hit 96 then 97 then dropped by a few. It's 97 again - a new record set for this one! TNAH (Chg -9) and TNPT (Chg -4) have dropped off the leader board altogether, but I'm still hoping to cash in on them both before they end their runs.
